In January I went to New York for a business trip and extended it for a few days so I could have the weekend there.  I had planned to go to some galleries, maybe attend a performance at the Metropolitan Opera and go vintage shopping in Brooklyn.  But then the weather turned after the first day and everyone warned us about one of the biggest storms ever to hit the east coast.  Thinking it might be exaggerated in that OTT way US news anchors love, we waited as the temperature got colder, the wind more biting, the clouds that creamy dull colour they go before it snows, and lo and behold the skies opened on Friday night.  I had dinner with friends at Rebelle down on Bowery and walked all the way back up to my hotel in midtown as within hours the roads were already chaotic.

There hasn't been much fashion around here lately.  Regular readers might have noticed that there hasn't been an outfit post for a while - I injured my knee in January (well actually back in October 2013, but I tore my meniscus in January) and had knee surgery last month, so I've been wearing a brace and using crutches for the past six weeks.  Other than the odd Insta snap, I didn't really feel like showcasing my new accessories or dressing up...  But they're coming off this week!  Now the physio begins and hopefully normal service will resume.

On our first day in Vietnam we didn't really make any plans (other than a massage at our hotel - definitely doing that after a long haul flight again) despite landing on the red eye at 6am, in case it was delayed or the jet lag was so bad all we wanted to do was doze by the pool and have an early night. It wasn't and we explored downtown Saigon, but our plans didn't really kick off until day two, when we had booked a speedboat tour along the Mekong Delta with Les Rives.

One of my favourite evenings last year was Diner en Blanc.  Over 1,200 guests were taken to a secret location (which for the 2015 event turned out to be Lewis Cubitt Square by Central Saint Martins at King's Cross) and gathered together dressed all in white for a three-course dinner, live music and dancing 'til dark.  Upon arrival, guests find where they're sitting and dress their tables with fresh flowers, candlesticks, pretty china and silverware, pop open the fizz and meet their neighbours for the night.  There were elegant ladies in evening gowns, chic men in white tie and tuxedos, sparkling jewellery, glowing candles, clinking champagne glasses, white balloons, a marriage proposal (she said yes), waving sparklers and live jazz performed by the Dixie Ticklers followed by rock'n'roll by The Bluejays.
