Ryan Lo was my first London Fashion Week show this season, which seemed fitting as the experimental, daring designer is a perfect example of what makes LFW great. For his seventh show, the Hong Kong-born designer drew inspiration from his heritage and childhood nostalgia, Chinese New Year and 90s teens. The catwalk was framed by Chinatown-inspired arches, the Mulan soundtrack was playing and models wore crazy, dreamy outfits in his signature bold colours.

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS
My approach to Mother's Day is the same as Valentine's Day: sure it's commercialised, but I like any opportunity to celebrate loved ones - especially my mama - so whether it's sending a homemade card, her favourite flowers or a present, taking her for afternoon tea or booking an experience together, parents deserved to be spoilt! I have fond memories as a kid scribbling felt tips in cards, picking flowers from the garden, saving my pocket money to buy something tiny, painting wooden spoons and making my mum breakfast in bed, and the tradition of little treats continues... Mother's Day comes early this year on Sunday 6 March - if you haven't decided what to do for it yet, here are ten classic gift ideas for women of all ages.

LFW DAY 1
The first day of London Fashion Week last Friday was a mad one: I came straight from the office to meet my favourite LFW buddy Rachel for a few shows, presentations and parties, traffic jams (Soho's narrow one-way streets are way too small for the extra crowds and cars) and a few glasses of fizz to kick things off and see in the weekend.

THE FAIRMONT, SAN FRANCISCO
The Fairmont is one of the most iconic hotels in San Francisco. Perched atop the exclusive Nob Hill area in a cluster of five star hotels, it's conveniently located in the middle of the city and oozes old school luxury with traditional interiors, a grand lobby with marble floors and gold Corinthian columns, polished wooden furniture, tall palms, fresh flowers and renowned hospitality.

PUSSY BOW BLOUSE
Today I'm wearing this preppy turquoise green pussy bow blouse from British shirtmaker T.M.Lewin for the first time. I was invited to choose a shirt and decided to channel a vintage secretary look rather than opt for classic crisp white. Following from last week's conversative polo neck and midi skirt ensemble I'm feeling prim and proper lately, covering up to face the cold weather in London - not too strait-laced though, wearing faux fur, high heels and my beloved Jaeger leather skirt to mix things up a bit.

JEAN SULPICE, VAL THORENS
It's early days but I've already had one of the best meals of 2016: after a day on the slopes in the Alps, we went to the two Michelin-starred Restaurant de Jean Sulpice in Val Thorens for a wonderful ten course tasting menu with paired wines. Jean Sulpice became the youngest chef in France to receive a Michelin star, winning his first at only 26 and going on to win a second in 2010 when he was 31. And so with high expectations, we sat down with a glass of Bollinger at the highest gastronomic restaurant in the world, ready for dinner...

ROSES ARE RED
14 February is just around the corner: we're in prime hint-dropping territory! My single friends think Valentine's Day is rather depressing and my married friends think it's a nonsense Hallmark holiday, but I relish any opportunity to celebrate and spoil loved ones - whether it's splurging and going all out on your other half or just doing cards, going somewhere special for dinner or cooking something nice together at home, I like to do something.

NAVY POLO NECK
Polo necks are still everywhere this season for men and women, trickling down from retro 70s looks on the catwalk to the high street over the past year, from big chunky wool jumpers to ribbed funnel necks and fine knit cotton polos to slip under dresses and layers while the weather's still cold.

BVLGARI GOLDEA
The new Goldea Eau de Parfum is the first standalone women's fragrance from Italian jewellery house Bulgari in over a decade. Alberto Morillas wanted to capture the essence of Bulgari and create a scent like its jewels: luxurious, sophisticated and sparkling, and the end result is a rich, radiant perfume centred around musk.
