GARRY WINOGRAND RETROSPECTIVE IN PARIS
Garry Winogrand was an American photographer (1928-1984) who documented modern life on the city streets in his native New York, his primary working location, and across the United States. He captured moments during the country's most vital and eruptive post-war decades, mainly the 1950s-70s, from Manhattan to Santa Monica and from the historical to the intimate.

ROSIE IN VOGUE MEXICO
British supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is looking super-glam in the November 2014 issue of Vogue Mexico, shot by James Macari. Wearing Versace and Miu Miu, bright jewel colours and OTT jewellery with huge coiffed hair set in waves and a full face of make up to compliment the 80s power dressing/ wealthy-housewife-means-business vibe. Styled by Sarah Gore Reeves, hair by Jenny Cho and make-up by Lisa Storey. It may not be tasteful, but I like it.

RIDING ON THE THAMES
I recently spent an exhilarating afternoon speeding up and down the Thames, courtesy of London RIB Voyages. The 'Break the Barrier' ride starts at St Katharine’s Pier by Tower Bridge and takes you to the Thames Barrier and back at 40mph. My cheeks hurt not only from being whipped by the wind (oh God, my hair) but from smiling so much. SUCH good fun.

F+F LINGERIE
At a recent Florence + Fred press event, a designer showed me around the lingerie, nightwear and loungewear collections and I was impressed. F+F isn't a brand I'd ever considered for lingerie, but they're launching their first silk set this season, developing a more luxurious line with Swarovski crystals, rich jewel tones, pretty embroidery and bold floral prints - and it's looking pretty good.

COMPTOIR DES COTONNIERS
I picked up this printed stretch silk dress at a Comptoir des Cotonniers sample sale when I was living in Paris. Arlettie arranges a different sale with a chic French fashion, shoe or accessory brand every week and I picked up dozens of bargains.
wearing with my black pebble leather handbag
The kaleidoscopic print features a floral and butterfly repeat motif in vivid, electric purple, bottle green, rust red and black. It's versatile, I like wearing it with straightforward all black and it's one of my favourite work dresses.

PHASE EIGHT
For Autumn/ Winter, Phase Eight mixes feminine shapes with soft fabrics and contrasting textures in bold prints, including the essential dark winter florals. Neutrals and black tone down the rich autumnal palette including forest green and claret red, in heritage tweed, delicate lace, graphic checks and jacquard co-ords. I normally think of Phase Eight as an occasionwear brand, but here are four lovely fashion-forward pieces for the office and upcoming party season.

ANGELS IN VOGUE
British Vogue features four Victoria's Secret models, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, as they prepare to bring the show to London for the first time, on 2 December at Earls Court. Adriana Lima, Lais Ribeiro, Candice Swanepoel and Elsa Hosk wear Dolce & Gabbana colourful striped skirts in the November issue, out now. They look as good in haute couture as they do underwear.

Public Hotel, Chicago
In Chicago we stayed at PUBLIC Hotel, one of the nicest hotels I've ever had the pleasure to call home for a week. Designed by Ian Schrager - the American hotelier and co-owner of the legendary Studio 54 - the premier Gold Coast property combines chic, minimalist design, great dining and a central location on the pretty, tree-lined North State Parkway.

PENHALIGON'S COUNTRYSIDE CANDLES
The new Countryside Candles Collection from British perfume house Penhaligon’s come in splendid packaging and all four smell lovely. Each fragrance is inspired by a traditional favourite country pastime; A Walk in the Woods - sage, violet leaf with woody patchouli, sandalwood and cedar, A Picnic in the Meadow - warm hay, freshly-cut grass, balmy amber with herby sage and clover, Tea on the Terrace - sweet lilac, rose and hyacinth florals and, my favourite, An Amble in the Orchard - apple and pear with fresh basil and green pea.
I really like Penhaligon's vintage styling and very consistent branding - you can recognise their elaborate, fanciful labels and antique-style bottles from a mile off - and the pretty toile wallpaper print makes these decorative hatboxes perfect for storing bits and bobs in too.

HOBBS AW14
The fresh new Autumn/ Winter 2014 collection by British favourite Hobbs has a pragmatic approach to how the modern woman dresses today. Expanding the traditional confines of daywear and eveningwear, the collection mixes formal and casual with masculine and feminine aspects for a contemporary feel.

BUDAPEST
In June I visited Budapest for the first time as some friends got married. The main focus of the weekend was obviously the wedding so we didn't have long to explore the city this time, but we jumped on a boat sailing down the beautiful blue Danube, which was a great way to see some of the impressive buildings on both sides of the river, like the almighty Hungarian Parliament Building (the largest building in Hungary) and the 13th century Buda Castle on the other side.

VENT DE FOLIE BY ANNICK GOUTAL
Vent de Folie is the new eau de toilette by Paris-based perfume house Annick Goutal. Inspired by nature and with a focus on pure and rare essences, Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen's latest creation is powdery, floral, woody and fruity all at once, opening with light sweet pea, intense hedione, zesty blood orange and geranium rosa, with sweet notes from blackcurrant and raspberry and a musky, woody finish from white musk and cedar bark.
Designed for refined, sophisticated women, it's a complex scent which leaves a soft, powdery veil on the skin. It comes in suitably chic packaging; a classic, vintage-style ribbed glass flacon, finished with a golden stopper and ivory ribbon.
Annick Goutal Vent de Folie EDT 50ml and Annick Goutal Vent de Folie EDT 100ml is available at Escentual, John Lewis and Harvey Nichols
