F+F LINGERIE

F+F LINGERIE

At a recent Florence + Fred press event, a designer showed me around the lingerie, nightwear and loungewear collections and I was impressed. F+F isn't a brand I'd ever considered for lingerie, but they're launching their first silk set this season, developing a more luxurious line with Swarovski crystals, rich jewel tones, pretty embroidery and bold floral prints - and it's looking pretty good.

The ink blue, black, navy and gunmetal colours in the dark innocence collection made the otherwise classic boudoir feel - satin dressing gowns, lace trim chemises and cute teddy suits - more grown up and refined.  I was given a voucher and chose the full midnight blue set here.

It's easy to turn your nose up at budget fashion retailers - and I'm guilty of doing that - but Tesco manufactures their clothing in the same factories as half the high street, the only difference is their very high volume, low margin approach, meaning they keep prices down for consumers.  This is a well-designed collection and I can't believe you can get silk lingerie this nice from £5.
