My Wedding Dress

My Wedding Dress

This is what I wore to my uncle's wedding last month (obviously not mine, silly!)  I bought the Bella Bodycon Dress from Whistles in a lunchtime panic the day before the nuptials as I spent the previous night going through my dresses rail doing some foot-stamping...  Turns out I do have versatile wedding guest/ races/ champagne reception style dresses, but none that my family hadn't seen.

Made from retina-searing bright orange silk with a stretch finish for a bodycon fit in a ruched, gathered design with a round neckline, elbow length sleeves and an exposed zip going all the way down the back.

The wedding was at Monkey Island Hotel, a beautiful events venue on an island on the Thames in Berkshire.

One of the beautiful peacocks (I was quite taken with this little guy...)

My sister-in-law looking all Kate Middleton in navy blue.  Wedding hats are a tricky one to get right, but I like modern styles and this sleek bow one looked great.

With my cute little cousin, who was one of the bridesmaids.

The dinner was delicious...

Here he is again...

Geranium buds in the gardens at dusk after a beautiful day.  There's no need to share any photographs from the evening... Needless to say, there was a lot of dancing and sore heads the next day.  The mark of a good wedding, right?
