Hansel and Gretel at The Southbank Centre

I'm going to see Hansel & Gretel by Kneehigh Theatre tonight at The Southbank Centre.  I'm extremely excited because I've seen the the German fairytale in ballet and opera forms but never as a play.  Although, as it's the stupendously innovative, award-winning Kneehigh Theatre it won't be conventional theatre...  I absolutely fell in love with their Red Shoes production and saw it three times, adored the Wooden Frock for its refreshing, modern take on the classic Cinderella fairytale and, most recently, thoroughly enjoyed the stage adaptation of A Brief Encounter.

'Head down to the forest this Christmas as Kneehigh Theatre lead you through a spellbinding world of wit and wonder, earthly delights and eerie woods.  Times are tough and food is scarce for poor Hansel and Gretel, but who could ignore the lure of a magical gingerbread house and its boundless sweet treats?  Join us for temptations impossible to resist as this classic fairytale is told with lively music, amazing gadgets and gizmos... and the help of some rather unlucky rabbits.'

'Full of merry grotesquerie' **** (The Guardian)

'Kneehigh Theatre has a secure reputation as one of our liveliest national treasures' (The Times)

As a firm fan of Emma Rice's work, before I've seen it I can safely recommend going...

SJP looks gorgeous on the cover of US ELLE's January issue in a pair of red peeptoe 'Open Lips' Louboutins.  I love this muted, toned down look for a cover and its tasteful minimalism really makes it stand out from screaming coverlines and tirelessly eye-catching bright colours.

Grey all the way.

I ffffound this awesome image.  I'm Queen of Excess but I don't have this many books.  One day...  Love the letters, love the natural light and the height.

Eighties Auction at Phillips de Pury in NYC

I just received this invitation to the Phillips de Pury & Company 80s auction comprising contemporary art, photographs, editions and designs. The eighties is possibly my favourite decade for popular culture; I love the superstar status and cult following of particular blow up artists like Keith Haring, fashion photography in the 80s was at its glossiest, sexiest peak, I love New York and I love this gallery.

The auction also features works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Salle, Kenny Scharf, Donald Baechler, Ettore Sottsass Jr., Marc Newson, Tom Wesselmann, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Jenny Holzer, Herb Ritts, and Laurie Simmons.  Someone fly me over please.  And kindly buy me a Keith Haring original for Christmas to go in my penthouse, thanks.
