Ah, England. The first few days of January were glorious, then it's been a very damp, grey start to 2026 ever since. Here's a classic rainy day fit in London, a variation of which I wear most days September-March, featuring new gifted boots, my Yankees cap, vintage cashmere coat, Anthropologie knitted scarf and an old H&M polka dot dress.

These practical black stompy boots are great for muddy park visits, pushing the pram and dodging puddles, and this vintage dark navy cashmere coat is one of my most-worn pieces of outerwear, with a satisfyingly low cost per wear. It's a beautiful fabric made from cashgora, which is a luxurious blend of soft cashmere and durable angora wool, and it's soft, warm and one of the hardest-working pieces in my wardrobe.

I've always liked hats, then I had kids, and now I need hats to cover the dark circles under my eyes - this blue cord 47 Yankees cap is on permanent rotation since I gave it to myself as a Christmas present. I also gifted myself this cute knitted triangle scarf, a light layer which will see me through to the warmer months. Roll on, spring.
