Vichy is one of those pharmacy brands loved by French women of all ages for decades, creating hypoallergenic skincare, body products, haircare and make-up since 1931. Known for its anti-aging products, Dermablend foundations and ranges for sensitive skin, the brand uses thermal spa water from the town of Vichy in its formulations and focuses on natural, active ingredients.  One of the latest launches is the Idealia Skin Sleep Night Balm - a rich, intense night cream clinically-proven to stimulate the skin's deep sleep recovery mechanisms.

Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep, Aquelia Thermal and Normaderm Moisturiser - beauty blog

The 8 glasses of water a day claim might be a myth, but everyone knows that 8 hours of sleep is the ideal.  Lack of sleep triggers the stress hormone cortisol, which leads to collagen being broken down and premature ageing.  The number one facial concern in the UK is tired looking and dull skin, made worse by late nights and daily aggressors (pollution, UV rays and weather factors), so this new launch is bound to be popular.

Unlike most thick, heavy night creams, it has a light, fresh gel consistency and lots of active natural ingredients with a lovely green tea and jasmine fragrance.  Hyularic acid is a hydrating sugar which stimulates cell regeneration and plumps the skin, LHA is derived from salicylic acid and helps smooth uneven skin tones through exfoliation, vitamin B3 reinforces the barrier function of the skin with rich apricot kernel oil and caffeine to decongest the skin.  I'm also trying out the light, super-hydrating Aqualia Serum and the Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Moisturiser which targets imperfections and gently peels to improve skin texture.
