RUN TO THE BEAT

RUN TO THE BEAT

On Sunday I got up at silly o'clock, woke myself up with some coffee and got the tube up to Wembley for the Sure Run to the Beat. In its eighth year, the race starts and finishes in Wembley Park and is London's only music 10km race, with live DJs and big speakers dotted along the course and at the finish line, including Marvin Hume, Jameela Jamil and BBC Radio 1's Danny Howard.

The route goes through closed roads around Wembley and up and down a few hills before turning back towards the big arch over the stadium towards the finish line to collect your medal and goodies from the sponsors.  I finished it in 58:53 which isn't my best 10km time, but isn't my worst either - with the limited amount of training I've done this summer, I was quite happy to be under an hour.  I have another 10km next month and I'm aiming for 55 minutes then.
