French pharmacies are a wonderful thing.  The pharmacists actually know what they're talking about so you can get great advice and they stock the best products from the best brands.  Vichy is one of those.  A pioneer of French pharmacy skincare for 80 years, the brand's founder Dr Haller put health at the heart of beauty, applying medical rigour to the cosmetics market.  I've recently been given some of their products to try out, which are perfect for those bad skin days.

Vichy Dermablend corrective compact cream foundation

Vichy bought Dermablend, a skincare brand founded in 1981 which produced products to correct complexion problems like acne, rosacea, blemishes, vitiligo, scars and even cover tattoos, before going on to become the number one cover-up brand recommended by dermatologists in the UK.  It's also the coverage brand of choice for make up artists worldwide 30 years since its creation; it's used at LFW, the Baftas and is always spotted in backstage beauty kits.

The products are hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin, offer good concentration of pure pigments, provide SPF protection and have long hold formulas so are water and sweat resistant too.  Even though it's corrective, it's buildable so you can use a light coverage or build to correct all imperfections.

The Corrective Cream Compact Foundation is available in 5 different shades, has double the amount of pigment as normal foundations so offers 12 hours of coverage and is the most long-lasting base I've tried.  Available at Boots now.
