The hot stone massage was incredibly soothing; I'd never had one before but the flat, smooth rocks are heated in warm water to loosen muscles so that the therapist can massage deeper. They also used hands, forearms and fragrant essential oils to work their magic.
I occasionally have back problems which flare up whenever I run half marathon races so I was happy for those aches and pains to be eased away. My boyfriend does triathlons and is training for his second ironman 70.3, so his muscles were grateful for the respite too.
I almost fell asleep and left tipping them and wanting to hug them; I'd heartily recommend for indulgent R&R time with a partner, pal or parent (it'd make a perfect Mother's Day present).
I booked through I Need Pampering which specialises in gift experiences; spa days, beauty treatments, short breaks and luxurious food and wine hampers.
