Audrey Tatou at the BAFTAs

Audrey Tatou at the BAFTAs

My highlight from the BAFTA red carpet last night was Audrey Tatou looking resplendent in a sugary pink ruffled Lanvin dress.

Following the spring/ summer trends for all things romantic and feminine, she opted for a girly colour but kept it real with an unusual cut and length, shunning the standard floor-length gown.

She missed out on the Best Actress award for her leading role in Coco Before Chanel to fellow pixie-cropper Carey Mulligan, but she won in the style stakes.

My least favourite BAFTA look - controversially, as fashion sites are going crazy over it this morning - was Vera Farmiga in Marchesa, who was nominated as Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in Up in the Air. Marchesa dresses are always beautiful and ethereal is one thing, but I wish people would stop wearing bridal gowns on the red carpet.
