La Soirée hits the West End

Roll up, roll up ladies and gentlemen - La Soirée is back in town!  The multi-award-winning cabaret company has hit the west end for the first time, taking up residency at the newly-renovated Aldwych Theatre for the coming two months.  I went to the press night earlier this week and my friend and I left with massive smiles on our faces: the dazzling circus acts include trapeze, puppetry, acrobats, hula hoops, the gravity-defying Russian cradle and everything in between.

This was the fifth time I've seen La Soirée and it's always SO much fun.  I'd seen a couple of the acts before in last year's show (like the grossly brilliant Daredevil Chicken Club), alongside plenty of new ones including the UK debut from Mallakhamb India and the London debut from The Chilly Brothers - both hugely impressive feats of balance, strength and synchronicity - Fancy Chance hanging from her hair, and the cheeky Les Beaux Fréres in the clever, quick La Serviette routine with a towel.  Then there was my new girl crush, Lea Hinz, the record-breaking, six-time German Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion doing her thing on the aerial hoop.  We sipped Champagne and chatted in the interval before the second half of more oohs and aahs and rapturous applause - it was the perfect, fun night for a girly catch up.  Highly recommended, as always!

La Soirée runs until 3 February 2018
