Time 4 Sleep

Time 4 Sleep

When I first moved to London, my first job was working on interiors magazines.  I still have the first issues with my name in the masthead: first in advertising, then marketing and editorial.  Over the years I've accumulated many ripped pages (and of course Pinterest inspo) for when the time came to furnish my own place.  We moved into an unfurnished flat in a 19th century house on a leafy residential street in Camden this March, and we've been slowly furnishing it over the past six months. First and foremost, we needed a bed.

I browsed aaall the sites, spent hours on Tottenham Court Road and all the department stores, and have decided, after very thorough research, that Time4Sleep has the most stylish, affordable beds on the market.  There: hard work done for you!  We wanted a smart, contemporary grey bed, with a standard height headboard and no ornate touches, and found the king size Milano.  It's upholstered in a graphite grey textured woven fabric, has a low foot end to keep the room looking as spacious as possible, and super handy drawers underneath which, unlike my bed at home, aren't attached so actually pull all the way out, giving you even more space in the middle between the drawers.  We're super happy with it.  Other nice grey beds include the Serenity, Kaydian WalkerMaxi Steel and Savannah, all of which are currently on sale.

Our bedding is the lightly striped white Egyptian cotton set from John Lewis, the grey knitted throw is from West Elmthe blue velvet cushions are from my beloved H&M Home, and the brass bedside table is from La Redoute.  Our stripe white mugs and the gold antique mirror tray are both from West Elm.  The lilac painting was an 18th birthday present from the lovely artist Tamara Lawson.

The scented candle is from one of my favourite new brands, Kiss the Moon - it's an uplifting citrus scent made with orange and geranium essential oils, hand-poured in an etched black glass container.  I love it.  Our water glasses are from Royal Doulton's Flame range.  I put my everyday jewellery in this gold leaf bowl from West Elmalways have This Works pillow spray nearby, Badtz-Maru was a gift from a Japanese friend, and I have a fern in an Ikea plantpot and a vase of baby's breath, because I like plants and fresh flowers in every room!
