VINTAGE TEA DRESS

VINTAGE TEA DRESS

The tea dress is one of my all-time favourites.  The nipped in waist and skater skirt is a feminine, flattering shape for everyone, the prim and proper look is just asking to be dressed up (I sometimes go all-out Betty Draper with pearls, statement earrings and a chignon) and the 50s/ 60s is my favourite style era.

I bought this floral print dress at a vintage store in Notting Hill when I was 18 and even though I rarely wear brown, I couldn't resist its homemade charm. There isn't a label in it and the stitching is a little wobbly in areas - I assume it was made from one of those crinkly paper sewing patterns - and I like to think it's now one of a kind!
