DHC SKINCARE

Let me introduce you to DHC, one of Japan's largest beauty brands, which has 25 years' experience in creating innovative skincare based on botanicals and is known for its olive oil-based skincare and beauty products.  I hadn't heard of it until recently and it's been a pleasure to discover.

DHC skincare products by natural Japanese beauty brand

The Deep Cleansing Oil is their most popular product (with one sold every 10 seconds worldwide) - the cleanser is made from olive oil with added vitamin E and dissolves dirt, excess oil and make-up leaving skin soft and clean.  Putting oil on your skin, especially if it's prone to breakouts, seems counter-intuitive, but olive oil is rich in antioxidants, hydrates dry skin and actually balances oily skin.  Astringent cleansers strip your skin of its natural oils so it compensates by producing more than normal.  Its gentle, water-soluable formula changes to a milky emulsion when you add water and rinses away without leaving a greasy residue. It's natural, effective and suits all skin types - give it a go.

I also like Pore Lotion, an alcohol-free toner which contains brown algae to support collagen and target free radicals and Pore Milk, a multitasking moisturiser featuring silica, artichoke leaf extract and vitamin C which clarifies pores, fights blemishes, smells of refreshing grapefruit and is ultra lightweight, ideal for summer.
