SHINY SHINY

SHINY SHINY

I have a Paul's Boutique bag (crafted from American basketball jerseys: sports luxe for life), which I bought when I was about 15 from a Topshop concession but apart from that, it's one of those brands I probably unfairly ignore just because teenagers love it.  I'm not normally a fan of logos, dangly, detachable charms or anything like that, but every now and then I see a model I quite like... Then everything changed with Maisy.  As soon as I saw her I knew I had to have her.

I was recently sent the absolutely fabulous Maisy bag in an unapologetically sheeny shiny OTT silver metallic holograph which is my favourite bag of the year so far.  (Does anyone else give items of their wardrobe these awards?)

Like carrying an iridescent oil puddle on your arm, it's one of those pieces which has every colour under the rainbow in it, so it matches yet clashes with everything.  Even the logo plate, zip and metal fixtures are in gold so clash with the silver panel and soft grey. Difficult to dress down, impossible to photograph, hard to leave at home: I like my accessories to make an outfit and this certainly does that.

The Maisy style is a PB classic: a handheld structured shape with twin handles, it comes in lots of different colours - the dusty lilac suede/ purple, cream/ navy polka dot and patent electric blue versions are great too. Also check out the roomy Elisa Hologram Weekend Bag and Lizzie Hologram Purse for more holographic goodness.
