ROBERTO CAVALLI ACQUA

I'm currently wearing and loving Roberto Cavalli's new fragrance Acqua, a delicate jasmine, lily of the valley and musk eau de toilette for her.  The warmth of the sensual musk blends beautifully with the feminine, floral notes making it a perfect summer scent.

The second perfume from the Italian designer launches in Spring 2013 and is inspired by the scents and colours of the Mediterranean, packaged in a beautiful turquoise glass bottle decorated with animal print and gold typical of the fashion house. It's fresh, elegant, summery and I'll be restocking when I'm out.

DAVID HOCKNEY SWIMMING POOLS

David Hockney has been one of my favourite artists since I went to visit his works when I was about 10 at Salts Mill in Bradford, where he was born.  I saved up to buy his serene, calming blue Mount Fuji print, which is still at home.

JULIA DUNSTALL IN MARIE CLAIRE RUSSIA

Canadian model Julia Dunstall was shot by Israeli-born photographer Erez Sabag for the cover story of the November 2011 issue of Marie Claire Russia.  It's an old shoot, but I love the styling, contrast with bright and muted colours, 70s-style flopping wide-brimmed hat and focus on big impact outerwear.

KAREN WALKER FOREVER

How ace is the new Karen Walker campaign, featuring 65-92 year old models? The Kiwi designer collaborated with photographer Ari Seth Cohen (of Advanced Style fame) for her new Spring/ Summer 2013 eyewear collection Karen Walker Forever, shooting Ilona Royce Smithkin, Joyce Carpati, Linda Rodin and Lynn Dell in their own NYC apartments.

It's refreshing to see an inclusive campaign showing fashion for everybody, of all ages.  They look great, I hope I'm this stylish in 40+ years.

SS13 TOPSHOP DRESSES

I say this every season as if I'm surprised, but Topshop is really good at the moment.  I couldn't resist this sports-inspired Mix Match Sweat Dress, but there are many more pieces on my wishlist...

CHIC ILLUSTRATED

Aussie model and mega girl crush Miranda Kerr is all 60s-ed up in the February 2013 issue of French magazine Jalouse. Photographed by Sebastian Mader and styled by Jennifer Eymere as a sixties sex kitten in monochromatic glory for the Chic Illustrated covershoot, she's never looked better.

TIN FOIL CHIC

Meet my shiny new shirt dress by BCBGMAXAZRIA in gunmetal grey.  The fit is loose with a drop-waisted drawstring and it looks casual like a typical short sleeve button down shirt, only shinier.

FRIDAY'S FFFFOUND: WILTSHIRE

As London Fashion Week kicks off in the capital I'm off for a rural retreat in Wiltshire.  I'm going to stay at a boutique country hotel called The Beckford Arms for a few days and I hope this weather holds up!  Have a good weekend.

IF THE SHOE FITS

... Buy it in every colour.  That's the advice from Moda-In-Pelle anyway, showcasing the new patent Gosley Pump with a low-wedge heel, elasticated trim, full leather lining and pretty bow detail.

When comfort meets style and you fall in love with a pair of shoes (I'm looking at you, ASH wedge sneakers), it's only sensible to buy replacements and other colours, right?

JANUARY INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

January was cold. London and the rest of the country was hit by proper, build-a-snowman, doesn't-melt-for-days snow, several times.  Brr.  So there were some wrapped-up walks, snowball fights and snow angels before it turned to grey slush and everything went back to normal.  I was tempted in the January sales, saw the Tim Walker exhibition at Somerset House, saw Midnight's Pumpkin by my favourite theatre group Kneehigh Theatre (great fun), Viva Forever (guiltily enjoyable), Uncle Vanya (Anna Friel was excellent), Complicite's Master and Margarita (didn't love it...), had lots of dinners with friends and willed Spring to hurry up.

BAND OF OUTSIDERS

The Band of Outsiders NYFW show had a 1940s feel with knee-skimming midi length pencil dresses, fur collars, strong shoulders and masculine themes running through slouchy tailoring, trouser suits, pinstripes, tassel brogue loafers and shirt details.  Wicked, although not sure on the hats.

PHILIPPE STARCK FOR KARTELL LOUIS GHOST CHAIRS

Everybody loves the Philippe Starck for Kartell Louis Ghost chair, don't they?  The design classic appeals to all sorts of interior design tastes, from those who prefer the full on, out and out minimalist style to those who want to add a modern touch to a room.

BAFTAS BEST-DRESSED

Yesterday afternoon I went to Juergen Teller's Woo! exhibition at the ICA then had lunch with a friend in Covent Garden before stumbling across the screaming BAFTAs crowds outside the Royal Opera House.

SHADES OF GREY

I wore my new digital knit print skater skirt from ASOS with my grey tweed Nelly coat (because I love grey so much I wear it twice) and added bright pink as a contrast with a vintage striped sweater and pom pom faux fur stole.  Drab winter months need a pop of colour, don't you think?  Also wearing my Love Moschino metallic bag and black leather ankle boots from Coach.

FRIDA GUSTAVSSON

How wholesome is the Spring/Summer 2013 campaign from Italian fashion brand Siviglia?  Very wholesome indeed.  Swedish model Frida Gustavsson looks beautiful channelling Grace Kelly with her pristine bob, posing alongside Tobias Sorensen in a vintage convertible on the coast.

COLOURFUL MONOCHROME

Monochrome is huge this season.  It was all over the catwalk at London Fashion Week in September and it's subsequently exploded onto the high street, taking over whole walls of Topshop and Zara stores.

VICTORIA BECKHAM AW13

Victoria Beckham's Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection shown at New York Fashion Week today focused on a sophisticated sombre colour palette of black, navy, grey and camel (with pops of cobalt blue and royal purple) with traditional checks, luxurious cashmere and tweed fabrics in tasteful mid-lengths, new shapes and volumes. Another accomplished, triumphant line from Posh Spice.

Swedish brand Ellos sent me a couple of dresses, including this casual striped sweaterdress knitted from soft cotton.  Ellos was founded in 1947 and is now the largest mail order and online shopping brand in Scandinavia, having mastered the art of inexpensive, stylish basics for men and women.

SONGBIRD LANA

American singer Lana Del Rey covers the latest issue of Japanese magazine Numéro Tokyo with a surreal, dreamy, Manga-inspired spread photographed by Mariano Vivanco. The Songbird Lana shoot features new spring fashion, pale pastels contrasting against bright colours, bold make up and her omnipresent big 60s hair. I dig it.

CASTAWAY DOUTZEN KROES

Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes sizzled in the January issue of British Vogue in a golden, summery, beachy shoot called Castaway, photographed by Josh Olins.  It was cruel of Vogue to publish this story in the winter months - these photos stick with you each time you look at your sickeningly pale skin and dream of a beach holiday...
