Today I'm wearing these vintage high heels for the first time. Vintage shopping can be so hit-and-miss, but these are in perfect condition; glossy and shiny black patent leather + sparkly bow detail + walkable heel height = bingo.
Oh, hello New Look SS12 photos I just found on my computer... The press show was in November, but better late than never! Here are some of my favourite pieces from the spring/summer 2012 collection currently in stores and online now.
I went to IPR's press day last month and keep thinking about the pretty Aztec print detail on the collar of this patterned silk shirt from American Retro's AW12 collection.
The French label was established in 2002 and has some great vintage-inspired laidback pieces I'd love to wear, I only wish they were stocked in more places... Check out their e-shop and the current SS12 line on ASOS(especially the très cool Elliot Dress with leather sleeves).
Oh and power boots too, I need these black strappy ankle boots on my feet asap. The stompy mid-heel height and wipe clean, shiny glazed leather means they're practical for London cobbles and rain.
It's like a party version of my new mirror print dress from New Look. I justified getting both because I am all over the patterned print trend at the moment and they're hardly expensive, so I can't be told off...
A couple of weeks ago I went to the latest superb exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London's Southbank Centre. 240 of cartoonist David Shrigley's laugh out loud, weird and wonderful works make for a very light-hearted art gallery trip indeed.
I'd last seen a collection of his amusing, odd little drawings up in Scotland during the Edinburgh Festival 2006, at the Printmakers Gallery - I remember letting loose with proper not-appropriate-in-a-gallery laughter there and had a similar reaction this time round too...
Earlier this week I went to the launch event of Cowshed's new range of skincare products and treatments to trim, tone and tighten. If you're wanting to get in shape as holiday season approaches, these products are the perfect accompaniment to the gym for a bikini body.

The specialised trio of spa products feature a freshwater micro-algae called Dermochlorella which is proven to improve skin tone and firmness after 12 weeks and a bespoke blend of Norwegian Kelp helps detoxify along with other potent natural ingredients.
Want to meet the smoking hot Russian supermodel Irina Shayk? Of course, everyone does. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model is one of those gorgeous women want to be, men want to be with kinda girls and has been chosen to front Intimissimi's latest project.
The Italian lingerie brand has created a book about finding and caring for the perfect bra, presenting years of accumulated wisdom and experience from the leading brand in intimate wear. The book acts as a guide for different underwear styles, shapes and effects and explains to readers how to maintain their lingerie in perfect condition for years to come.
To celebrate the book launch, Irina Shayk has been hosting events in 5 different countries, finishing in London on Tuesday (24 April) in the Oxford Street store.
On 17 December 2011, the tropical storm struck northern Minanao in the southern Philippines, killing an estimated 1,200 people, leaving many still missing and survivors homeless.
The Washi storm was relatively small but the destruction was the worst the islands have ever seen. News coverage has died down in the past couple of months, but these evocative photographs will stay with you for a while.
Vibrant patterned tote in strong cotton canvas with flat leather handles, luggage tag and leather trim. Interior zip and patch pockets. Magnetic clasp closure, snap-button tab and protective metal feet on the base.
The t-shirt shape (boyfriend: "it's a bit shapeless..." pfft, what do boys know?) is jazzed up nicely by the big bold floral pattern and works well with black opaque tights, bold lips, silver heels and jewellery.
Short sleeved t-shirt dress with mirrored tropical and butterfly print across the front. Features a plain black reverse with visible zip detail and short capped sleeves.
Last September/ October, I took a trip along the north west Italian coast, driving over from France to stay in San Remo, Cinqueterre and Portofino. Here are some of my favourite photographs, because if you don't spend drizzly April days looking at holiday photos, when do you?
How pretty is this summery 50s-style Spot Midi Dress from Dorothy Perkins? It comes in Coral, Lilac and Ink blue - I think I prefer the lilac version, because if you're going to go down the full on ladylike route, you may as well do the whole girly, prim and proper thing properly.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the launch event for the lifestyle brand RE's new store in Liberty. RE was created in 2003 by Simon Young and Jenny Vaughan in a converted garage in Northumberland and they have been selling rare, recycled and fair trade homewares andaccessories ever since.
I was recently invited to the Bellini Bar at The Hospital in Covent Garden to check out Celliana's latest jewellery collection and here are my favourites. They have some really cool bits and pieces coming out for summer, just in time for festival season...
I'm having a big OTT jewellery moment at the moment, so I fell for the feathers, fringing, clashing metals, double finger rings, stacking bangles, colourful, tribal bracelets and massive statement necklaces.
My motto for SS12: the bigger, bolder, blingier: the better. Layer it on and stack it up!
sunset dyed tassel and gold necklace
Indian gold and royal blue seed bead bangles
double finger ring decorated with bright beads, stones and chains
masses of gold chains, crucifix crosses and peace signs
carnival-inspired bead, sequin and bejewelled cuff
The best thing about Celliana is the price points; I think "cheap as chips" is the technical term... Check out Celliana's latest range of affordable jewellery at the new website which relaunched this week. Happy shopping.
Pink metallic longline plastic rain jacket with contrast lining.
A practical showerproof jacket and sturdy flat boots are actually very sensible purchases, and this outfit would look great at festivals... Ah! I might have just found my excuse to purchase... What's on your wishlist at the moment?
Neon is still everywhere this spring, including on my fingertips! Check out my new Nail Glam polishes from POP. I love the cool blue Mint Magic, but they all look wicked with neutrals, blacks and greys. Sold at Debenhams andASOS.
Today I'm wearing this navy and sheer midi dress, which I bought along with two other midi dresses in a mini-ASOS splurge, in an attempt to bring my average hemline down a little to a more ladylike length...
Sexy peekaboo midi dress by ASOS Collection. Featuring a round neckline with sleeveless styling, a sheer stripe insert to the chest and legs, and an open back design with wide strap detailing. Designed with a bodycon fit and midi cut length.
Twist front t-shirt dress by River Island. Crafted in a woven, marl jersey fabric. Featuring a scoop neckline, cap sleeve styling and a twist front design with cut-away detailing to the waist. Designed with a midi cut length.
Good Things is a new simple skincare range by Alice Hart-Davis, who learnt a thing or two about the cosmetics industry after years of being a beauty writer. Designed for young skin and using powerful anti-oxidant ingredients like superfruit beauty boosters, the products are simple, natural and affordable.
What's that, you want to buy me a beautiful chocolate Easter egg from Fortnum & Mason? Oh, you're so sweet! These are handmade by dedicated chocolatiers and packaged in Vivienne Westwood designs.
Order by midday tomorrow (Tuesday 3 April) for Easterdelivery. Or visit the beautifully decadent Piccadilly store to browse their Easter eggs, hampers and food and drink. Because if this long bank holiday weekend isn't the time to indulge, I don't know when is.
How cool is this chain bracelet from up-and-coming jewellery label Lucy Folk? Very, I think... I really like the unusual contrast of gold knitted thread with coloured metal - it's woven from metallic yarn and the steel chains are covered in powdercoating.

I saw it at one of this week's many, many press days and it's part of the Australian designer's food-inspired 'Feast' collection (including raisin earring studs and grapevine pendant necklaces) for AW12, but you can check out her SS12 collection over at Matches now. Definitely one to watch...
