DELICIOUS LIPS

I've been sent the new trio of lipcare products from beauty brand Miners. The complete collection of award winning product Tin o' Tint is specially designed to moisturise lips whilst adding a hint of colour.

Mango is a vibrant coral orange colour, pink grapefruit is a pale pastel pink, cocoa beans is a light caramel brown and they leave your lips feeling soft and smooth.

I know it's a bit early, especially as summer's only just arrived, but these would make a great Christmas present or stocking filler; all girls like lip balms and these smell and taste good enough to eat.

LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD

We braved today's storms to cheer on Lizzie Armitstead who won Team GB's first medal in the women's road race.

We had a pretty good spot on the final stretch, at 500m to the finish and just outside Buckingham Palace.  GO LIZZIE!

We watched yesterday's disappointing men's road race in the same spot too.  Damn, they are FAST.

I'm certainly no gear-head, but how sick is this burnout series from New Zealand-born, Sydney-based photographer Simon Davidson? I can smell the burning rubber just looking at them...

OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to Colchester in Essex to watch Keith Musto (who was a silver medallist in the Tokyo Olympics in 1964 and then founded the royally-appointed, top-of-the-range sailing brand Musto in the sixties) on the Olympic torch run.  Despite the rain - of course, British summer! - the crowds were out in force and the atmosphere was great.

Check out J.Crew's bling!  I am currently obsessed with bracelets and OTT jewellery and all these bangles are ticking boxes for me...   Love the Elephant Bracelet in particular.

DANIEL GALVIN

Despite blogging about the dip dye hair trend way back in February 2011, I never took the plunge because I couldn’t decide on a colour.  But then a couple of weeks ago I was invited down to the Daniel Galvin flagship salon for a spot of finger painting and I decided that it was now or never.

CUTLERY CHIC

I love Cheap & ChicMoschino's playful diffusion line, for their daring, unusual designs and the Fork Napa Bag from the Italian label's SS12 collections is certainly unusual.

The quilted napa leather handbag is decorated with four candles fork handles in gold leather for a quirky, tongue-in-cheek edge to an otherwise classic-looking bag.

What do you think?

Moschino Cheap & Chic has opted for good humour with this leather handbag. Handles in the shape of silverware. Upper with a padded texture. Snap buttons on each side so you can make the pocket larger.

It's on sale over at Spartoo (which stocks almost as many bags as it does shoes) and I'm deliberating. I'm in the market for a new black leather bag and everyone needs a humourous handbag...

MISS KUNIS IS MISS DIOR

Mila Kunis is the face of the Miss Dior range of handbags for the second season.  The Autumn/ Winter 2012 campaign features the 28-year old actress styled by Carine Roitfeld and photographed by Mario Sorrenti in a glamorous series of black and white 50s/60s-inspired shots showing her chased by the paparazzi.

LUCINDA SNEAKERS

Today I'm wearing these navy blue satin Lucinda trainers by Carvela.  I walked into Kurt Geiger and bought them in a I-can't-walk-another-step-in-these-heels emergency and they were a very comfortable alternative to five inch platforms...  And they were in the sale.

These are a great way to incorporate the ever-present sports luxe trend and jewel-embellished lace-up pumps in navy blue satin are a glamorous take on the boring old plain white plimsoll...

TOPSHOP UNIQUE AW12

Topshop Unique's AW12 collection has hit the stores and boy is it a goodun...

It was one of my highlights from London Fashion Week; 90s-style oversized shirts, chunky merino wool knitwear, military and utility-inspired silk separates and layered textures emblazened with cross motifs worn with masculine army boots.

Grown up grunge in a dull (in a good way) autumnal palette.  It's not like we've had much of a summer to celebrate anyway,so roll on Autumn!

LONDON LOVE LETTERS

Oasis has brought out a limited edition collection of womenswear celebrating London landmarks in all their glory.  I like the cityscape line drawings by illustrator Lizzie Prestt on the Big Ben Placement Dress:

This shift dress has a big ben sketched print to the front and a high neckline. Sleeveless in style, this piece finishes mid thigh.

Shop the rest of the London Love Letters collection for patriotic dressing. Roll on The Games!

DWELL AW12 PRESS DAY

This week I attended modern furniture retailer Dwell's press preview for its upcoming AW12 collections.  Amongst my favourites was this excellent stainless steel movie set-style tripod spotlight on sturdy black legs, which came in table lamp and standard lamp heights.  I will almost certainly be choosing one of these...

MY OWN CARRIE NECKLACE

This week I've been wearing my own take on the famous Carrie necklace; three E L L silver pendants layered at different lengths (E short, L medium, second L long, natch).

I love Carrie Bradshaw's signature gold chain and I remember when I was a little girl I had a similar one. I was once in a supermarket with my mum when a totally harmless, cooing adult came over and started chatting to me and because she knew my name, I thought I knew her. My mama freaked out and I was never allowed to wear it again.  I rarely fear abduction these days, so now I proudly parading around with my names on show!

TUBE TYPE

As the hordes of Olympics visitors begin to descend on our already fairly crowded capital city (17 days to go!), it's time to celebrate the best of the wonderful British transport systems: the hot and stuffy London Underground... Which I will be avoiding throughout the London 2012 Games and instead I'm going all Mark Ronson and gonna ride my bike (the video for which was incidentally filmed in my 'hood).

Still, I'm celebrating the terrible tube anyway with this fabulous A-Z print designed by Tim Fishlock.  Commissioned by the London Transport Museum for the 'Mind the Map' exhibition, the illustrator produced 300 exclusive, limited edition signed prints and you can still grab one for £35 over at ltmuseumshop.co.uk.

In seventeen years working as an artist and designer, Tim has been involved in an especially wide-ranging collection of art and design projects. From hands-on production for public art and architectural commissions to designing a host of branding, digital and identity work. Key to Tim’s working method are the themes of play, colour and interactivity. His intention is always to produce work that displays both industry and simplicity and hopefully raises a smile.
