MULBERRY ZIP POCKET MAC

Cold drizzle, sleet and snow calls for sensible clothing...  Sensible meets stylish in Mulberry's Zip Pocket Mac (£650) in nightshade navy blue coated cotton.

Shiny macs are so 60s, especially this simple shape with the shirt collar and pleated black.  It comes with full length sleeves and detachable hood to keep out chills and rain.  Bbrrr.

'We love the hardware and practicality of fishermen's macs and our new season has been inspired by the British summer and seaside - which is often colder than it should be!

The Zip Pocket Mac will keep you sheltered from the elements in contemporary, understated style: front zip pockets, hood and with a flattering swing-back shape'

Check out the rest of Mulberry's gorgeous spring 2012 collection, the lookbook and advertising campaign for which was shot on Brighton Beach featuring ice cream pastels and summery brights.  I've so had enough of this weather!

ORCHIDS IN BLOOM

Even though it's particularly cold tonight, we've had a pretty mild winter in London. Nature is all out of sorts with birds, plants and flowers behaving like it's spring... Including my pink and white orchids which are back in bloom already!

GET FAMILIAR WITH OLE HENRIKSEN

The beauty industry is so oversaturated with new brands and alleged “miracle” treatments, you have to cut through a lot of hype to find great products.  But it’s always a pleasure when you do!  If you’re not aware of Danish skincare specialist Ole Henriksen, he makes jolly good natural products for face and body.

I’m currently obsessed with the aromatic Truth Serum™ Collagen Booster ($72 for 50ml), which is an anti-ageing product suitable for all skin types.  It smells of summery citric fruits (just what winter skin craves) and feels super-hydrating despite its light, sheen-y consistency.

The Truth Serum™ is loaded with potent antioxidant ingredients such as vitamin C complex, grapefruit and green tea extracts to brighten skin and leave you with a radiant, glowing complexion.

It won the Natural Health magazine’s Beauty Awards 2010 ‘MIRACLE WORKER’ and as much as I normally roll my eyes at hyperbolic PR nonsense, I tend to agree…  My skin feels healthy and smooth and I smell of zesty oranges.  “Miracle” might be a strong claim, but this stuff is certainly recommended.

What's your favourite beauty product?

ZARA METALLIC SNAKESKIN SHOPPER

After browsing the dregs of the sales racks and bags on Oxford Street recently, I snapped up this Metallic Snakeskin Shopper in Zara.

I was drawn to its simple, slouchy shape, the genuine leather’s raw, unfinished edges and thin black leather straps.  As the colour is hard to put your finger on – it complements gold, bronze and copper – it matches lots of my accessories and jewellery making it a Very Versatile Purchase Indeed.

COCO ROCHA KICKS ASS

Coco Rocha is like the Goldilocks of models; not too skinny, not too "real woman" but juuuust right.  Curvy but slim, beautiful and outspoken about the strange world of modelling and all the silly size politics within, she seems relatable, down-to-earth and just cool.

Coco Rocha shot by Chris Nicholls

Look at that attitude! This is my favourite shot from her covershoot in the February issue of Canadian fashion magazine Flare.  Everyone wants those Isabel Marant sneaker wedges but as they're sold out everywhere, check out these white sporty Louis Vuitton trainer wedges for an equally kickass alternative.

EMILY HAIRY TOTE

Danielle Foster is an up-and-coming accessories designer who graduated from London College of Fashion in 2010 and has already worked with Charlie Le Mindu and launched two collections.

Her latest bag designs are made in black leather finished with solid brass hardware including this Emily Hairy Tote Leather Bag made with, erm, human hair...

Danielle Foster's 'Emily' tote bag will inject a serious dose of fun into your wardrobe. Embrace the label's quirky cool styling. Contrast against a crisp shirt dress or mix with head-to-toe colour for a statement-making look.  Made with 100% cow hide leather, solid brass hardware and 100% human hair.

Her striking designs are inspired by bondage and erotica, featuring buckles, studs and straps.  The rest of her leatherware collection is stocked on at BENGT – her Dan Dan Small Caged Shoulder Bag (above) and Alex Buckle Tote (below) are pretty damn funky too.

HIT THE BLITZ PARTY

One of my favourite nights out in London last year was The Blitz Party in an underground bunker complete with bars made of sandbags, ration card cocktail menus and boys and girls dressed up to the nines in vintage 40s clothing.

TIFFANY TWIST BOW JEWELLERY

I popped into the Tiffany & Co store in NYC last month and fell in love with the Tiffany Twist collection.

Launched in spring 2011 (this SLOW COACH has only just seen it despite regularly trawling jewellery sites), the collection is inspired by traditional hand-twisted wire to create a spiral effect.

Twist Bow Pendant on a 16 inch chain necklace

The collection includes pendant necklaces, bracelets, hoop earrings and rings in thin, twisted mixed metals.  I love mixing up silver/ gold/ rose gold, but I think the Twist Bow Pendant looks particularly delicate in sterling silver.

Twist Bow Ring

The Twist Bow Ring is gorgeous too and the bangles would look wicked stacked in all three colours.  Lovely stuff.

CALVIN KLEIN SPRING ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

The spring 2012 advertising campaigns for all Calvin Klein brands have just been released today.

Calvin Klein Collection: © 2012 Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

This is from the Calvin Klein Collection men’s and women’s print advertising campaign featuring Lara Stone alongside Tyson Ballou in stylised monochrome, shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in St Barts.

Calvin Klein Jeans: © 2012 Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

The Dutch supermodel first hit the Calvin Klein runway in 2007 and has fronted the house’s global campaigns since 2010. She looks fantastic in the latest ads – I love Ms Stone (and hot male models are alright too) – and these vivid, high-contrast Calvin Klein Jeans shots featuring bright orange, green and pink skinny denim with Toni Garrn and newcomer Matthew Terry make me crave summer (and tanned, sun-kissed holiday skin)...

I want to be lounging on Guanahani Beach in St Barts! Good work, M&M.

GREENS AND LEATHERS

I’m still coveting those Sonia Rykiel dresses, so with clashing on the brain I mixed colours and fabrics at the weekend.  I wore this Vero Moda Short Combo Dress with my vintage Escada leather bomber jacket from the 80s (check out that jazzy tropical jungle print lining rolled up at the sleeve…) and because it was cold, I threw on my Burberry elbow-length leather gloves for good measure.

This casual day dress from Danish label Vero Moda was part of my latest order at super-duper Scandinavian fashion portal NELLY. It's made from soft versatile jersey, is easy to dress up or down and the bright grass green colour will carry through well into spring.  It's now sold out, but check out more Vero Moda pieces and day dresses on NELLY.COM and thank me later.

GOLDEN GLOBES 2012 OUTFITS

Out of all the good, bad and ugly red carpet looks at last night's Golden Globes awards ceremony in Los Angeles, my favourites were Angelina Jolie (when does she ever not look quality?) and Lindsay Lohan in full-length dresses in a similar hue (I'll leave out a Playboy pun about Li-Lo looking good in the nude)...

Angelina wore an Atelier Versace gown in ruched oyster satin which was full-length and split to the thigh.  She matched the bright red pop of colour on her neckline with pillarbox red lips and clutch and accessoried with some handsome fellow on her arm.

Lindsay Lohan looked modern in a simple floor-length cream silk Prada dress with a decorative bow and loose blonde curls.  She seems to be on a roll with getting her act together and she looks good for it!  My favourite outfit at the 2010 Oscars was Demi Moore in a pale blush pink gown by Atelier Versace, which always has failsafe designs for chic red carpet dressing.  Take note, Erin Wasson.

POSH GRAFFITI LETTERS

I bought some metallic POSH Graffiti letters as Christmas presents for my two favourite couples; a gold J & P for my best friend and her, as-of-last-month, fiancé and a silver C & B for my brother and his, as-of-August, wife.

STRIPES, SPOTS AND SONIA RYKIEL

Patterns and prints are always around, but clashing them is huge for spring/summer; mix and match polka dots, florals, stripes, herringbone, checks, tweeds, dogtooth and digital prints and layer up different fabrics for a stylish mash up of contrasting textures.  These are two of my favourite Sonia by Sonia Rykiel dresses, which have just cropped up on THE OUTNET.  Whether you go down the multicoloured or monochrome route, chic stripes are perfect for day-to-night dressing.  The simple shape and three-quarter length sleeves work perfectly with smart ballet pumps for daytime office-ready chic, then make like the Man Repeller and load up your forearms with stacks of clanking bangles and jewellery with some massive heels to hit the town after hours.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel's ivory and navy blue silk-blend cotton dress puts a quirky spin on classic stripes with a clashing polka-dot collar. Wear it on warm afternoons in the city with your favourite shoulder bag and leg-lengthening ankle boots.

In a kaleidoscope of colours, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel's knitted cotton sweater dress is a playful way to work timeless stripes. Team yours with a sleek black clutch and towering ankle boots for the perfect blend between simple and striking.

JAEGER SALE HIGHLIGHTS

The Jaeger sale is still going strong and taunting me, dammit...  Here are my favourite items; black polka dots, pretty printed dresses and bright, bold coats:

Spotted prom dress from Boutique by Jaeger, with a flattering high waist and full skirt. Fastening with a back zip, this playful spotted dress is perfect for adding a whimsical touch to your look by referencing classic 50s glamour.

LONDON ART FAIR

It's that exciting time of year when my inbox fills up with newsletters from the best galleries from the city and beyond featuring highlights of the latest works they'll be displaying at the London Art Fair later this month.

One of my favourite prints I've seen so far is this playful screenprint by Sarah Hardcastle at the superb Paul Stolper gallery (which also looks after Peter Blake and Damien Hirst).

Jodie Knew It and Remained Professional
Edition of 20 | 100cm x 70.1cm

Now in its 24th year, the fair hosts over 100 galleries showcasing a collection of contemporary works from the 20th and 21st century.

It's a fantastic place to pick up unique work from up-and-coming talent or established heavyweights of the art world, so if you're in the market it's well worth a visit.

CHRISTOPHER KANE LACE SLEEVE DRESS

You can rely on king of neon Christopher Kane to deliver a whole load of bright colours perfect for picking up January dressing…

Although peach is relatively restrained for the Scottish designer, I love this Neon lace-sleeve wool-blend crepe dress with its delicate sheer lace sleeves.

'Christopher Kane never fails to wow with fresh designs in blazing hues, and this bright-peach wool-blend crepe dress is a new-season favourite. Its white lace sleeves lend ladylike appeal to a sporty raglan cut - keep this statement style the focus, adding just a metallic clutch for a touch of sparkle.'

Now all I need is another Christopher Kane sample sale...

FRESH SUGAR ADVANCED THERAPY LIP TREATMENT

If you're lucky and going skiing or unlucky and have dry, cracked lips from this ghastly winter weather, then I've got a solution for you.  The Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment is a brand new anti-ageing product which is fortified with nourishing, moisturising ingredients to repair and plump lips.  Made from beeswax with sea fennel extract to smooth fine lines, it's paraben-free and feels soft with a non-sticky finish.

This is the sixth treatment from Fresh which protects lips from the elements leaving them hydrated and smooth.  And with Valentine's Day approaching, everyone needs kissable lips.

GLITTER OXFORD BALLET FLATS FROM J. CREW

I bought these sweet Glitter Oxford ballet flats at J. Crew in New York last week.  One can never have too many comfortable flats, I'm partial to the odd sprinkling of glitter and I love monochrome.  Those three factors combined with an additional 30% off the sale price and the fact that they're made in Italy from nice soft Italian leather, meant that these were happily snapped up and here I am prancing around The High Line wearing them later that day...

A design team favorite, these oxford-inspired ballet flats are flat-out charming in crisp, spectator-style black and white. Trimmed in glitter at the heel and toe for an unexpected (and thoroughly winsome) twist. We've stepped up our collection with new design details too, adding a cushioned insole and removing the shank, making them more flexible for supreme comfort.
