NW3 Apple Green Military Dress

I was having a reflective moment in the sauna the other day, y'know - how you do.  And whilst contemplating, I had a revelation: I need more apple green in my life. And I'm ready to act on this revelation with the NW3 Military Dress.

A definite season favourite, this apple green silk wool dress is beautifully thought through with contrast edge set-apart collar, gold button detailing and adjustable roll-up three quarter sleeves.

I love the smart, feminine 40s shape with its full vintage-style skirt, military buttons and delicate little collar.  And the colour!

I've been drooling over NW3 from afar since seeing their AW10 collection preview adverts in magazines last year, with the eye-catching combination of bright orange tights with patent court heels and hot pink tights with fuchsia courts.  I particularly love the contrast in textures between the silk dresses, woollen cardigans, sheer hosiery and the patent leather shoes with little velvet bows.

This dress is sold out online but if I can locate it in one of the London Hobbs stores, it will be my first piece of NW3.  And apple green.

PPQ for Office

The PPQ for Office capsule collection has some hits and misses, but these Office Amina Platform Court Black/ Multi Satin Platforms are big hits.

'As the sun sets against dusky pink-walled Medina’s, it’s time to glam-up with the ‘Amina Platform’, the high-heeled edition, as you shimmy down the narrow cobbled streets.'

PPQ revealed their collaboration in September during fashion week as their first foray into high street, and the collection includes ethnic, Moroccan-inspired designs with gold embroidery and bright summery colours. In stores and on my wish list now!

My Favourite Royal Wedding Souvenir

After scouring the net extensively and trawling through the many, many royal wedding memorabilia galleries, I have found my favourite royal wedding item.  Duh-duh-DUH...  One part tacky tat, one part Emma Bridgewater-esque tasteful design, one part English eccentrism with the union jack bunting; step up Sweet William Designs:

William and Kate | Wedding Bells
The wedding of the decade! Whether you choose to celebrate the nuptials of the second in line to the throne or are simply rejoicing in the extra day off work... Sweet William brings you the ultimate Kate and William mug.
  • W: 8.5cm H: 9cm
  • Text reads "Kate and Wills" and on the reverse "29th April 2011, London".
  • £12.00
I look forward to rocking it out for an ironic tea party in about ten years.

New Style Crush: Oh Land

New Danish electro pop sensation Oh Land looks stylish and gorgeous in her publicity shots and likes to dress up like a zebra.  I already like her.

She's got a cool girly sound and her self-titled debut album is a popariffic piano record released this week, including 'Sun of a Gun'.

Touring extensively and hitting Glastonbury festival in June, she's bound to be huge this summer.  She's worked with Pharrell, is set to work with Magnetic Man and will be on every radio station near you soon.

Slinkachu: Concrete Ocean

Slinkachu exhibition just opened at Andipa Contemporary art gallery in London.  Unfortunately I missed the opening but I'll try and make it down before it closes next month.

I'm a big fan of the urban artist and had his Little People in the City: The Street Art of Slinkachu book on my wishlist, which some kind soul gave me for Christmas two years ago.

His innovative Little People project, which he started in 2006, is an imaginative and amusing street art installation/ photography project and makes me want to start collecting figurines.

'Named as a leading figure in Urban Art by Patrick Nguyen and Stuart Mackenzie in Beyond the Street (2010) Slinkachu places tiny 1:87 scale installations around the city and then abandons them to fend for themselves. In Concrete Ocean Slinkachu has for the first time reversed his usual process, seemingly uprooting paving stones and parts of pavements to bring them into the gallery to form concrete islands.'

Go, see and be inspired to make your own little creations in the dirty streets of London...  I'll see you there!

Embellished cutout sweater dress by Adam

I love/want/need this stunning embellished cutout sweater dress by Adam.  Ex-Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta, Adam Lippes infuses classic feminine cuts with 80s spirit and neon colours in his own line.

Who needs jewellery when you have an embellished Cleopatra-style metallic collar?  That's what I've always said...

Adam's embellished cutout dress needs little adornment to work its magic at cocktails - just add killer heels and an understated clutch!

Black bamboo and cashmere-blend dress with a sequin and bead-embellished silver cutout pattern through the the top.  Adam long-sleeved dress has a boat neck, a ribbed waistband, ribbed cuffs and simply slips on.  90% bamboo, 10% cashmere.  Dry clean.

Was £400 now £200 - a bargainous 50% off plus it's made with bamboo.  Do you own a dress made from trees?
